It was in September 2002, when one equipment engineer and one product engineer started brainstorming about new fuse technologies and developments. In a little cottage, on just 15 sqm space their first little workshop for fuses and fuse elements came to life.
In 2003, the German Wickmann Group faced organizational restructuring and the closingof its biggest manufacturing unit in China. With its own latest developments, and its cleanand forward-looking concept the little workshop attracted Wickmann’s core engineering force and talents. Fusing their technical know-how, long market history and world-class expertise provided the solid foundation to incorporate their joint company, the Better ElectronicsTechnology, Co., Ltd. in Dongguan.
The introduction and immediate success of the patented No.720 series high voltage fuse and the all-purpose 522 series glass tube fuse helped Better Electronics to gain a strong foothold in the industry, and opportunities opened up to work for the big giants in the industry, like Galanz, LG and Midea. 
To be able to meet the increased market demand for fuses, the company moved its facilities into a new factory complex in 2005. Besides adding a modern office building, Better Electronics decided to ramp up investments in its R&D division and new product developments, increasing the original product range from two to nine categories.
All the hard work and determination started to pay off. With the upstream acquisition of the Waltron electronics and hardware factory in 2006, our product range received another boost, including now 20 fuse series and correspondent fuse holder types.
Better Electronics received its ISO 9000:2001 certificate in 2007 and firmly established its quality system management and compliance to ROHS and other leading industrial standards.
Better Electronics actively gets involved with the major industry associations and becomes a member of the national committee for technical standardizations in the field of circuit protection. Being appointed as a member of the IEC and SC32C advisory panels we embraced the opportunity to send our personnel abroad to Japan to learn management experiences and lean production from Toyota and Yamaha.
Having achieved our first goal to become a nationally reputable and highly recognized company in 2008 we expanded our perspective to a wider industry by stretching out and strengthening brand awareness into the world through the Global Sources supplier program and other business networks.
With the acquisition of the Hong Kong Asiafuse brand in 2010, Better Electronics further strengthened our market presence in Asia and added three more product lines to our portfolio. Leveraging our strategic position in the electronic components industry we also welcomed Wholesome Electronics Co., Ltd. into our group. This also allowed us to expand our business to thermal switches and EMC components such as power transformers and inductors.
With the establishment of overseas distribution channels and representative offices in Japan and South Korea we entered the global market. In 2013 we were appointed authorized supplier for Samsung mobile electronics, with ordering forecasts of at least 10 Million pcs per month.
In 2014 we extended our global reach even further by conquering the European market with the addition of our Betterfuse sales office in Germany.
